This average increase of "just" 0.20% will come costly to a lot of people - those with average to low earnings - as these make up the majority of members in the "public" health system.
Taking a look at options, one will learn that Additional Rates vary from insurer to insurer (0.20% - 2.50%), thus there is always real potential to save serious amounts of cash by switching from an expensive to cheap provider and despite this recent announcement.
For this reason members should always consider changing the logo on their health insurance card, despite the provider's promise that money is returned in form of their extra services, cash-backs for precautionary examinations and other reward linked to bonus-booklets, etc. These are just teasers, not real savings!
Here a few examples based on gross income:
Self-employed | Employed | |
> 2,500€ => 5.00€ per month / 60.00€ per year | > 2,500€ => 2.50€ per month / 30.00€ per year |
